Volleyball

Hey everyone!
This past week I've been trying out for the Daniel Wright Junior High seventh grade girls volleyball team. After three days of try-outs the roster was finally made. About 50 girls tried-out and 24 make it. Luckily, I was one of those girls! I'm so excited to play. I haven't gotten my schedule yet, but let me know if you want to come see a game. Well, thats all. Oh, and by the way for those who don't know, Matt joined a frat, AE Pi I think it's called. He was too shy to share with the blog so I thought I would let you know.
Love you,
Lizzy

Nice work, Liz. By the way, for those reading this comment, I have been very impressed with the amount of posts/comments for the past few weeks. I think we've had a record breaking 2 week stretch in terms of comments and posts. Obviously, this pleases me very much. I love to see action on the blog. Hope the trend continues...

Congratulations Lizzy!!! I'm very proud of you for going through the experience of try outs; I know for me it was very challenging to try out for sports teams because they can be so competitive. I hope you really enjoy playing on the team. Do we have any other former volleyball players in our family besides BJ??

P.S. - Unless these comments are being posted on Eastern Time, you people are staying up way too late!!!

So happy for you. It's always nervewracking to try out.You will be terrific as you're such an excellent athlete. Let us know when you get your schedule. We'll try to get to see you. Good luck, Honey, it's always wonderful to
share with you. Love, xxxxxx

Sara, leave it to you to notice the time...........

Alright Lizzy E! I think you will find that volleyball is an adrenaline rush and a great team sport. With some practice and hard work, you may one day earn the coveted title of Volleyball Director at Camp Slaw. E-mail me your schedule and I'll definitely come in town for a match.

I would also like to voice my resentment to Sara for referring to me as a "former" volleyball player. I'm still ruling the sand and the hardwood here in West Des Moines!

i am so proud of you, lizzy! and i am very excited for matt!

Sorry about that, BJ. I shouldn't have said "former." I guess I was just thinking of junior high or high school teams at the time. Please forgive me :)

Congrats Lizzy! That is awesome. I myself can of course recall how nervewracking try-outs/auditions can be. I'm very proud of you. I would like to take a moment to say that I've seen BJ play on the court (where he seemed to be the only player on the team that somehow got bruises on his back) and in the sand ( "I GO!") I hope your games are equally exciting.

There is a special place in my heart for volleyball. Michael and I met on a volleyball court. He spiked the ball over the net and gave me a bloody nose. He was very gentlemanly about it, tho. He came over and offered me a hand to get up! And as they say...the rest is history!

So Liz, keep playing volleyball and you too might end up with a wonderful husband! Good luck, Honey! Love, Aunt Laurie
